Mission Statement

Hartford Opera Theater dedicates itself to the production of operas with an equal emphasis on the musical and visual elements. The company explores traditional and contemporary operas in which character development, musical integrity, and cultural relevance are paramount. HOT introduces operas to new audiences in spaces that are surprising and refreshing. The members of HOT are committed to collaboration as musicians, actors, designers, composers, and visual artists and to the exploration of these relationships through ensemble work.
